Default Help

I'm new to the Omron CX-Programmer software (2 months of use).
Today I connected my interface cable from the ol' laptop to a CMPA1(?) CPU30 PLC. I was able to upload the existing program into my PC but I couldn't download my changes to the PLC. Obviously, I could go online with the PLC. I changed modes from run to program. Cleared the PLC memory. But I still couldn't get my changed program to download. I was able to download the original program back to the PLC. It's not a communication problem. However I noticed that when I performed this last operation, I didn't get the message that a modem was selected to be used as I had when attempting to download my changed program. One more thing. The error message that would pop up after attempting to go online with my changed program stated that the PLC's didn't match. It stated that my project program was for the aforementioned PLC and the PLC I was trying to connect to was a CJ1. But it really is the CMPA1(?)
Again, HELP!
