Default Help anyone

I am using two JVC VCR's to dub a couple of videos. Have done it many times
with other machines. These two (HR-J655EA and HR-J245EA) for some reason do
not work properly. The minute I hit 'record' the video signal level drops
down and becomes unstable (the sound is ok). Tried swapping the VCR's (eg
master-slave) but still no joy.

Thanks for any suggestions.

kalin:
To verify that your hook-up is OK and your VCRs are working OK, try doing
this dubbing with a "home" recorded tape that was recorded off of the air or
cable instead of a commercial movie that has embedded copyguard.

I had the same problem, only picture recorded okay--no sound at
all...swapped machines, same result...tried recording 'off air' signal--same
result. Tried new cables; everything you can think of.

Went back to it a few days later, turned on both machines, popped in source
and blank tapes, and hit record---Bingo! Everything worked.

Gremlins?
