Default AB DL10 Message displays

Allan Bradley DL10 Message Dispaly
Greetings All,
I am a new member of this forum and this is my first thread on this site.
Can anyone help me out with this problem I have with a DL10 message dispaly unit.Let me start from the begining. The DL10 lost all its memory due to a power failure and the internal battery being dead.It has gone into edit mode after the power was restored. Can anyone tell me how I can download the messages to the DL10 and switch it to run mode again.I tried to get some info from the user manual but didnt see anything regarding RUN mode.I think I managed to download the messages by reading the manual but couldnt get it to RUN.Is there a way I can check what I have downloaded?Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Cheers,

viks.......

Viks

I've not used one personally but I thought they worked on a RS232 protocol and displayed messages sent as ASCII from the controlling PLC not messages stored in them?. I do know the setup is down to the dip switch settings, so have a look at that.

Hello Sparky,

This problem just occured after a power failure as you say that it displays the messages sent from the PLC,this unit is connected to a controllogix and no one has changed settings on the dip switches so is there anything else you'd like to suggest? If nothing has been changed on the DL10 and if it works the way you've mentioned, should'nt it be displaying messages as the PLC is working just fine and the machine is also working as it should?

cheers,

viks....
