Micrologix 1200 and 1761-cbl-pm02 cable

I'm trying to connect my PC (RSLogix 500) to Micrologix 1200 with 1761 cable.
In RSLinx I selected RS-232 DF1 device but when I press autoconfigure it says: Unable to open the COM port (no matter which port number I select).
Can some one please explain what I have to do, step by step, to be able to connect to my PLC. I need this as soon as possible.

are u sure u have checked your hardware driver first ,first do that and then try again.
and if againg problem persist plz tell me if i can help u.

You have that elininar the driver of the linx despues you have to eliminate the port com in the manager of devices of windows, despues to say to him(her) that it(he,she) should look for changes in the hardware, since it(he,she) has detected it again turn it to giving of discharge in the linx, already debio of having left yourself of brand(mark) conficto in the puert

primero elimina el driver del linx, despues elimina el puerto com en el administrador de dispositivos de windows, despues dile que busque cambios en el hardware, una vez que lo haya detectado windows el puerto com, vuelve a dar de alta el drive en el linx, debio de dejar de marcar conflicto en el puerto, si el puerto com es por usb debes de checar que numero de com le asigno windows en el administrador de dispositivos y ese mismo numero de puerto debes seleccionar en el linx, espero te sirva la informacion

Hi zex24,
I am havin the same problem wit u.
When I check at the RSWHO it is showing the PLC but wit the RED cross on the PLC.
I did the auto configuration but it fails to communicate.

Can someone confirm that by pressing the COM button beside the PLC com port
could set the communication setting of the PLC to DEFAULT ?
