I HAVE A PROBLEM GETTING AN ACTIVE STATUS WHEN GOING ONLINE WITH AN S5 100U PROCESSOR. I HAVE S5 115U PROCESSORS AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. WHEN GOING ONLINE WITH MY S5 100U PROCESSOR I GET "BLOCKS NOT ACTIVE". does anyone have a solution to this problem?

If you have no other choice then a system reset on the s5 may cure this. Make sure you have the software backed up to re-download once you have done the reset. This is a last resort, don't do it if you have no other way of getting the production machine back on-line!

1. Put the plc into stop mode using the physical start/stop switch on the plc
2. Now press the switch below the start/stop button towards the Overall Reset position and hold it there.
3. With the bottom switch held at overall reset position, switch the start/stop button from stop to start and then back to stop twice. While still holding the bottom switch at overall reset wait for the stop led to flash.
4. Release the overall reset and your PLC should be reset.

Thanks a lot. This helped. We were using EEPROM so reloading was no problem.
